At the beginning of the 19th century, an aspiring herbalist Ausano Ramazzotti began experimenting by blending ingredients from around the world, such as sweet Italian orange peel, gentian, rhubarb, turmeric and rosemary. Aiming to create a flavored beverage, designed to be enjoyed at any time of the day, Ausano created Amaro Ramazzotti, a blend of 33 spices, herbs, flowers and fruits. His aim was to become a worldwide product that you can drink with family and friends during special moments. Not surprisingly in 2009, Amaro Ramazzotti scored 10 million liters sold. Ausano’s dream had came true: it was the first Italian exported bitter all over the world. In 1985, Ramazzotti’s TV payoff “Milano da bere” turned the brand into an authentic icon. With an open-minded dynamic City in the background, the campaign tells the love for life and those happiest moments shared with friends.

It represents everything Ramazzotti stands for. Ramazzotti has developed during the years becoming a worldwide product which is continuously evolving and adapting to different countries and markets. Creating new and innovative flavors that represent the Italian, traditions tastes and way on living. In 2015 the Brand launched Aperitivo Rosato: the new fresh and light aperitif, with its unique blend of fruity and floral flavors. Ramazzotti never left its original essence of top-quality Italian products

In 2016, the creation of a new micro-distillery in Midleton allowed us to experiment and explore different types of distillates, without disrupting normal production. A desire to be innovative and be at the vanguard of the Irish Whiskey revolution left an opportunity to create an ambitious new brand aimed at craft spirit explorers.

Sprung from the minds of Masters and Apprentices, METHOD AND MADNESS is whiskey that pays heed to tradition, while searching for the unordinary. Innovation is nothing new to Midleton, but this whiskey provides a taste of what is possible when knowledge and discovery collide.
